Whitney, Thompson & Jeffcoach, LLP, is hiring a legal secretary to assist our team’s busy litigation attorneys. The candidates must have excellent word processing skills and be proficient in formatting, typing, preparing, and e-filing federal and state pleadings, calendaring, and maintaining paperless files. High-quality work is a must.
Requirements:
- At least three years of secretarial and/or paralegal litigation experience is a must
- Attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team
- Must possess a high degree of technical proficiency in Microsoft Office (Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint), and be able to work well in a paperless environment
Responsibilities:
- Proofreading and redlining work for accuracy, format, grammar, and punctuation
- Experience and comfort without supervision needed in preparing legal documents for filing and service with courts and opposing counsel
- Maintaining schedules/calendaring
- Assisting with trial preparation
- Performing secretarial functions associated with firm administrative tasks, including transcribing dictations, maintaining paperless litigation files, processing new client/matter requests, client bills, time reports and expense reports
- Completing other job duties as assigned

Whitney, Thompson & Jeffcoach, LLP, is seeking an experienced paralegal to assist our team’s busy business litigation practice. The candidate will be expected to assist attorneys in preparing judicial council forms, including but not limited to unlawful detainer actions, collections actions, and default judgment packages; facilitating all aspects of document management, including subpoenaing, gathering, summarizing, and producing documents; and overflow secretarial functions as needed.
Requirements:
- At least three years of experience in a litigation practice
- Paralegal certificate
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team
- High level ability to work independently
- Must possess a high degree of technical proficiency in Microsoft Office (Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint), and be able to work well in a paperless environment
Salary range is $26 to $40 per hour, dependent on skill level and experience. Other benefits include medical, dental, vision and 401k program.
