Attorney
Andrew Woo,
Partner
Andrew first began working at the age of 14 at an Arby’s. Working hard selling roast beef sandwiches for about 1.5 years allowed him to leverage his experience to climb up the fast-food retail industry into a better paying position at Boston Market at age 16. After a few more career advancements and educational achievements, Andrew has now been a practicing attorney for over 15 years, specializing in employment defense and using his blue-collar employment background as a foundation to offer valuable advice and insight to his employer clients.
Andrew has over ten years of experience representing employers in employment lawsuits, ranging from small family businesses to large national corporations across a wide range of industries, including the agricultural, manufacturing, healthcare, automotive, trucking/transportation, hospitality, service, and retail sectors. Andrew has demonstrated a commitment to guiding clients through difficult situations as efficiently as possible to minimize cost and maximize outcome.
Prior to joining WTJ, Andrew worked for ten years at the largest global employment and labor law firm. He also served as law clerk at the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California in the Court’s Fresno Division. Andrew has practiced law based out of the Fresno area for over 15 years, and served clients located all across the State of California.
Outside of work, Andrew enjoys photography and hiking, and has been described as “good enough to not be annoying to play with” on the golf course.
Experience
Andrew has over a decade of experience in civil litigation, with a focus on employment defense. He has defended clients in single-plaintiff employment cases involving claims of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, failure to provide reasonable accommodations or engage in the interactive process, and wrongful termination. He has also handled complex collective and representative wage and hour class actions and PAGA actions, involving allegations of minimum wage and overtime violations, missed meal and rest breaks, business expense reimbursement issues, wage statement violations, and waiting time penalties. Andrew also provides advice to clients on employment compliance issues and best practices for litigation avoidance, and has assisted clients in drafting employment policies, employee handbooks, and arbitration agreements.
